Irina Ratushinskaya (“OA” 4l) is reported to have spent three terms in an isolation chamber of the Mordovian camp where she is being held together with several other Orthodox women, for a total of 39 days. In December, 1983; she was hand-cuffed and beaten as she was being force-fed.

Irina was one of ten women who wrote a joint letter to President Reagan in November, congratulating him on his re-election and expressing their hope-in this country, “which follows the way of freedom and respect for human rights.” (“Possev”, Nov., 1984)
